Live the question

This week seeing my 81 years old father critically ill, gasping for breath, curled like a child, disoriented on his whereabouts, facing flashbacks of old episodes like fighting harsh court cases, accidents, betrayal from his brothers, hardships in business, and loss of his loved ones. Seeing him in this state made me realise how much he is fighting to find the answers to why and what is happening to him.

It is not just him; many are trapped in the cycle blaming the situations and taking stress. Getting trapped furthermore. Cursing the karma, instead of making a good one. Sending negative energy rather than creating a positive one. Living in a world of friction in place of finding harmony. What does it take to flow with life? What does it take to live the question and not seek the answer…………. Ultimate answer to most things is LIFE, which is gifted to us.

Don’t know if it’s my age making me spiritual, or clarity of mind seeing my father suffer. I want to live the question and not find the answer. For me it has always been important to make an effort and navigate through times. Life is different from the corporate world, where we are taught to find the WHY. Here it is the HOW! How to move on.

“Living the question for me is – curiosity to move forward, challenging the status quo, not being still, embracing change, following your gut (which is often the soul asking you to do), being humble, and accepting life without questioning why.”

Sitting here on the hospital bench, I reflect on many decisions taken with the flow of life, be it studies, moving out of home, marriage, kids, work, shifting cities, choice of friends, family emergencies, health crisis and many heart breaking and happy moments. I also reflect on situations where I get stuck. What I learn from success or failure of near and dear ones. Not being judgmental but candid view of what is right when everything is wrong.

It all boils down to not asking why instead living how and keep moving as ‘This too shall pass.’
